Fashion is what has taken the world by storm, more so in the last couple of years. Blame it on the media coverage on fashion events, and celebrity style quotient, or simply on the increasing self-awareness. Well, all this is good news, as people are more conscious of their appearance. They are more worried about how they look and how they should look. And this is encouraging the fashion industry to increase the number of fashion outlets.

Every city and town one goes to, in India, it seems to be dotted with boutiques. In fact, earlier the fashion outlets were simple shops with hangars for the clothes. But now, because of the increasing competition in the field, the outlets are becoming trendier.

And a part of the trendy movement is the staff. The staff is being given the tag of being stylists. Yes, there are a number of fashion retail jobs be it in stores selling clothes, shoes, jewelry, or other accessories. And those being employed have to have sound knowledge of all the ongoing trends that exist in the market.

Those joining the fashion retail industry are required to study not only the local trends, likes and dislikes; but also the world trends. And most importantly, in order to develop a loyal clientele the sales person should be able to guide the customer into buying what would look good on them, rather than what is regarded as fashionable.

It s a rather responsible job, as one is responsible for the look of a customer… One is responsible for pleasing the customer!
